The Temple Gallery is pleased to present the photographs of artist Valerie Galloway in the exhibition Valerie Galloway: Mixed Media, which opens Friday, December 7, 2012 with an artist reception from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The exhibition features Galloway’s beautiful, hand-colored, gelatin silver photographs and archival pigment inkjet prints, influenced by film noire and 1920s avant-garde photography. Galloway’s work is replete with a dark sensuality, epitomized by coded plays on gender and sexuality like the visual double entendre, Doppelgänger.

French-born Galloway, a returned Tucson daughter, has exhibited and sold her photographs and photographic art objects in numerous venues including Barneys, New York; the International Center of Photography, New York; the Brooklyn Museum of Art; Tucson Museum of Art, and Yikes Toys and Gift-O-rama, Tucson.  Her work has graced both book and album covers and has been published in numerous magazines including La Fotografia, Photographer’s Forum, and Skin Two
