| John McNulty: Ceramics
Temple Gallery is pleased to present John McNulty: Ceramics, featuring a selection of decorative mirrors from the talented Tucson artist. McNulty has been a ceramic artist for over forty years creating functional and decorative pieces. This exhibition highlights his long standing interest in mirrors that has characterized his work for the last 20 years. McNulty has developed a repertoire of themes that ranges from darkly humorous and flippant to romantic. For example, the Grapes of Wrath series of mirrors emphasizes Bacchus, the god of wine and fun-loving profligate. On the other hand, the series, Hearts and Flowers, demonstrates a romantic sensibility evident in the use of boldly colored roses. McNulty’s gift is that while he enables us to see ourselves as we would like to be, he reminds us to have a sense of humor about it all. As McNulty says, “I have been given an extraordinary opportunity to showcase recent work at the Temple Gallery. The gallery space has given me the impetus to think BIG.” We hope you will join us for John McNulty’s BIG show at Temple Gallery, John McNulty: Ceramics. It promises to be a truly exciting and fun-filled event. John McNulty: Ceramics opens December 4, 2009 and runs through January 19, 2010. An artist reception at Temple Gallery Friday, December 4, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Temple Gallery is located at the historic Temple of Music and Art in SoCo at 330 S. Scott Ave., Tucson AZ 85701.
